Music

At Rose Green Junior School, music is a vibrant part of school life that we are incredibly proud of.

Our curriculum makes music a joyful, hands‑on adventure that every child gets to experience. From learning to sing with confidence to exploring instruments, rhythm, and composition.  Our curriculum is designed to spark creativity and build musical skills in a fun, engaging way and also allow children to enjoy opportunities to showcase their talents throughout the year. Whether they’re discovering the beat in a musical track for the first time or developing a growing passion for music, every pupil is encouraged to shine, express themselves, and feel the magic that music brings to learning.

Throughout their time at Rose Green Junior School, pupils experience a rich variety of musical opportunities, including biennial whole‑school productions, Christmas Carols at our local church, singing assemblies, our enthusiastic school choir, iRock concerts and a range of instrumental and vocal tuition.

One of the highlights of our musical calendar is the Concert of Performing Arts, held every other summer term. It’s a joyful celebration where children showcase their talents and shine on stage.

Peripatetic Music Lessons

Alongside classroom music, we’re delighted to offer specialist instrumental and vocal lessons delivered by talented peripatetic teachers from West Sussex Music Service, IMM Music and iRock School of Music. Many of our pupils currently enjoy learning guitar, brass, piano, and singing, either in small groups or one‑to‑one sessions during the school day.

There is a charge to these lessons and arrangements are made directly with the provider.  These lessons offer children a wonderful chance to develop confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love of music.
